Artist Bio

Laura Elaine Sloan is an emerging artist who is a member of contemporary arts scene in Belfast. Laura is currently residing in Belfast Northern Ireland and works mainly from her studio in Queens Street's 4th Floor Studios.

Laura creates abstract landscapes previously focusing on traditional painting displays; more recently the artist has been creating objects out of wood, oil and linen, these objects always hold abstract landscape imagery within them. Her work calls attention to the transformative nature of our environment raising questions in the viewer about change, perception and temporality.

Previous bodies of work by the artist have been displayed in Galleries across Belfast; including a solo exhibition at FRAMEWERK  Gallery, 'Reflections of Inscape' and been a part of multiple collaborative showings including; 'Slow Motions; Painting Symposium' at Riddell Hall and exhibition at Crescent Arts Centre and the collective showing at 4th Floor Studios 'Waveform'. 
Laura has also fulfilled a year long internship at FRAMEWERK Gallery wherein she primarily curated and installed exhibitions and shows. She has sold work at local markets and has completed her BA Hons in Fine Art. Currently the artist is looking to continue her formal education by pursuing a Masters Degree in Fine Art.​
